Default Are these type of synth sounds suitable for modern music?

I really dig these type of sounds. Would you use them?

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

AYe, hate to admit it but that is good. And yeah, can't see why those sounds shouldn't influence modern electronic music again today. And it has done, there's a lot of trance stuff that's used those raw octave, off-bass lines.

I think there's a lot of modern 80s stuff around without realising it. Remember Zombie Nation a while back, using a Commodore 64 SID chip (sid station). Loved that little track. Was fresh and cutting edge at the time, but when you think about it it's pure 80's, right down to the melody (as used in the C64 game Lazy Jones), but just hyped up and repackaged for the modern dance crowd. Loneliness by TomCraft was another massively successful track with the same sort of infective bass as the TransX track, with an almost 80's electro beat too.

Trying to find the direct link to download the TransX for us both, DigiS, but my computer's acting up, I can't view the html source. =/ Got loads of windows open atm.

I haven't heard that for a while.

You do dig up some classics DS.

There is still plenty of room in todays music for these sounds. I still listen to a lot of my old 80's tracks and most of them still sound as good today as back then.

Look how much of Kraftwerk's back catalogue is still being used in pop and hip hop tracks.

Dave.

That's right, i just remembered that! Will have to dig that out again from somewhere... Ratty - Sunrise was pretty good.

Listened to Scooter in about 1994-ish onwards during my late school years.
