i wouldnt go for it if your looking for a warm analog sounding digital synth.
its a very advance and fat sounding synth...
Run it through a tube compressor, and it will sound fat gauranteed!!

So, after selling my Virus C in December I've just got the Waldorf Q and it has floored me. People say it's thin but I've been managing to get some really meaty sounds out of it. It's not as good as the Virus from a cosmetic point of view and the knob movement isn't as precise as on the Virus C, but it can do some amazing sounds - the resonance is very cutting especially. It seems to always want to be at the front of the mix, it's a synth that sounds "confident" if that makes any sense. A Virus and a Waldorf would make a great combo.

Nice Smag. So how much are you going to buy it for, or haven't you decided to buy it just yet?

Looking on Ebay they're going for about ?500 (Q rack) which is a good price considering what you get. I'll just have to see if I can persuade my mate to part with it when he gets back. I've only had it a couple of days and I can confidently find my way around the mod matrix and menus, I haven't found it hard to get to grips with. It's got a kind of raunchy sound, the reverb on it isn't very good though.
