Default Do I need the supernova2?

Early I can buy a new supernovaII KEY that low price. But I have the 8080,and I think NOVA's sounds sre some like 8080,what do you think that?
For Trance music,If I have 8080,do I need a supernova2?
maybe Nova can mack some better 303 sound than 8080.and....maybe some nova sound like supersaw.

The Supernova2 sounds completely different from a JP8080. I have a 8080 and I had a Supernova2 keyboard. The supernova2 is a very good synth. Compared to JP8080, it's a little harder to program because it's more complex and there are less oscillator waveforms. Also don't expect to get a supersaw out of the supernova2. It sounds completely different in unison mode. Use the JP for supersaw and pads. The supernova is best for some plug leads and basses. The sound is kind of very harsh, so the strings and pads are also a little hard to program (depending on your music style). Virus and JP are instant pad-machines and alot smoother sounding than a supernova2.

Supernova2 can make a very good 303 sound.

To my ears the Novation KS5 sounds clearer (i.e. less muddy) than the SNII. I had a KS5 for a few months before selling it. The KS5 is a great synth for those who dont want to spend too much on a Virtual Analog.

VEry good overdrive implementation on the KS5. Very nice strings, bass and leads...actually its very good at pads too. For the money you cant complain!

Remember the SNII is using 1997 technology.....things have moved on a little. THe KS5 sounds fresher.

This is just my opinion......

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

I disagree with Digi-screams on this one.

I think the SN2/Nova sound better than the K series. A friend of mine has a Nova which I used regularly when I was living in Australia. I was dissapointed when I first heard the K series. If you are thinking of the buying anything from the K series, I'd say buy V-station instead - sounds the same.

I like the Supernova sound actually. If I see one cheap enough, I'll pick up a Nova one day I think. I'd rather one over the 8080 actually.

I would say if you say, if you are going to go with a K, buy the V-station or the X-series midi controllers, that come with free upgrade to K station.

I am with HC, on this one though. i prefer the Nova to the K series. I like the grit of the nova's compared to the clean liquid filters of the K..

The true is it.In China have 4 kind of synth low price now.maybe I can become 50% rebate.they are NL2key(not NL2X),Q key,supernova2 key and modular G2 key. but first I think I'm not a synth master-hand ,can I use modular G2,it's too complicated.And the Q,I have a microQ ,but....broken haha.so I have not much interesting for Q.I can choice between NL2 and supernova2.but I like the NL3's sound(unless NL2 and NL3 have very diffrent sound).and I will buy the NL3 in 1 year.so only supernova2 I can buy.and I like V-station's 303 sound very very much.
only 4 kind of synth to sale, which one should I buy?please somebady help me.and.Brother THM ~please go on help me
