How do I automate the Filter Key Follow/Tracking ?

How do I automate the Filter Key Follow/Tracking ?
I need to do this for certain types of sounds... it says cannot automate this parameter ???!!

Is there a work around or will I have to record as audio ?

I assume you're talking about real automation using your host software, no?

if you can grab any of the soft knobs to automate it with your daw, you're good to go. just assign them to the following destination: flt1keyflw or filt2keyflw. hope it helps.

I assume you're trying to automate using virus control, right? maybe you can grab this parameter (granted you have some kind of midi cc chart with you, there was one made by some clever user round here for the ti, ask Timo as I'm sure we'll know where to look for that better then me)with good old fashion midi!... but as long as it works it's cool, right?

Did You mean through the routing matrix on virus control ? cause I cannot see it on the list of destinations.How would I go about this ?

The Midi chart might work. I'll try that.As long as it can be done , its good.

well, I own the C and it's got that name on mine. actually turned it on to know the exact name. but you should have something very similar to that.

yep, did mean routing matrix, something like: contr3 on the soft knob. then select it as source on a mod slot, and assign it to the equivalent of the parameter "flt1keyflw" on your ti and if you can automate the soft knobs with virus control, this should be ready to go!

btw, curious what you're trying to achieve with it!

I see it as a source , not a destination...so....could I assign it to modulate filter cutoff as a destination on slot 1 - amount 1 and then on another slot use controller 12 controlling slot 1 amount 1.. which is linked to a soft knob and then try that way maybe ???
hmm..gonna try it out...

I was just experimenting with a psytrance lead on another softsynth and while modulating the filter tracking, I heard a few familiar sorts of filter aticulations, that I have heard in many tracks...I was not able to reproduce that by only tweaking the cutoff or env amount or attack, decay etc...seemed like I could only do it with the tracking/key follow....


Edit : Yes!! That worked...wow...quite round about...but It worked !!

checked it again... it's here as a destination on the C. all patches compatible on with the TI. it's got to be there somewhere!

yeah, that can place the filter in different positions and if notes change that reacts as well, like a restart modulation thing for all the modulations it triggers with filter envelope at least - a cool thing indeed.

I think they have altered the approach towards setting it up on the Ti..but it is definitely possible through the mod matrix and the slots and the controller 12 etc linked to soft knobs.
