Default TI keyboard constantly crashes Logic Pro 8 and system preferences on MAC. Help needed

Hardware and software used:
Access Virus keyboard (OS 4.5.01)
Apple Mac G5 Power PC dual 2.3 Ghz 3GB RAM (OS 10.4.11)
Standard G5 Internal Soundcard
Logic Pro 8.0.2

When the TI is connected to the Mac it crashes Logic. Also, if the TI is connected then the system preferences menu is inaccessible and crashes. No crash reports are generated in these instances. Instead, the spinning beach-ball appears and then it is necessary to force quite Logic in order to continue using the computer.

If the virus is not connected then logic starts up fine and works perfectly. This is also true of system preferences.

The TI is connected directly to the Mac via USB. There are no other devices connected to the Mac. The problem persists regardless of which USB port is used. And several different USB cables have been used to no avail.

I have contacted the official Access TI help-line and they concluded that it was unlikely to be anything to do with the TI installation or drivers because I have already uninstalled all unused drivers and reinstalled the latest version of the TI OS available on my MAC OS.

They suggested that i should reinstall the Apple computer OS from scratch.

obviously i would like to avoid doing this if at all possible.

I would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to provide with fixing this problem.

Many thanks for your efforts, Larry
