Unhappy Access Virus Clsassic (Rack) Power issues

Hello all, I am new to this forum and found it after searching the web for some help into an issue I've recently come across with a 'Virus Rack'.

A little over a year ago I noticed the power adapter had signs of damage and the LCD screen was sometimes very dim compared to others. I recently moved my studio and decided to chuck away the faulty plug in favour of a new one and to stop it from potentially damaging the unit any more than it already was.

I've got a new 12V DC plug which has more than the required 500mA, but the unit does not power on, I had the polarity set correctly, and I've since tried reversing it.

Is this a common issue with these inits, is there a DIY fix? Is there any resources out there that I've failed to turn over?

Any advice is welcomed and greatly appreciated!

PS: I wish I had a newer Virus!
