Default Octatrack, amazing!

wow!
Just got my Octatrack, the MIDI is very very tight (forget about VC).
I have 8 very capable MIDI tracks on the Octatrack running against the TI in SEQ MODE.

And more importantly everything is very very tight arps etc

I wrote about this elsewhere in the forum, but just curious if you've ever tried using VC+USB exclusively for MIDI, and routing audio straight to the interface? Once I did this, my timing problems went away. Having the VC running in the DAW is indispensable to me, for patch management and sound editing, etc. Not just because of less knobs on the Snow -- it's just faster for me to use a mouse to drag and drop things than clicking buttons to get to menus showing only a few params at once.

I haven't had problems with arps, latency etc. since doing this.

I think I may have tried this, but in the end wanted to escape the laptop even though I still use Logic as a tape recorder. I stare at a computer screen all day so it's nice to do the hands on thing.

The hardware sequencing seems very tight and am loving the Virus again in seq mode that I am going to sell my Analog Four and buy a drum machine.
