Default Crackles & pops when using Logic with my Snow

I have a rather frustrating issue, I am using Logic with my Snow (TI via USB) and it works fine (sounds clean) when I am just playing it live into the instrument channel, but if I hit record and play a part I hear odd crackles and pops from the Snow. When I play the part back the crackles and pops are there, it's almost like the midi record is causing them because if I loop the part the crackles can appear in slightly different places. Like I said it only seems to be when the Snow is receiving midi from Logic, but Midi from the keyboard is clean. It's a frustrating problem because my recordings are unreliable, I practice a part live and it sounds great, then I record it in Logic and get crackles and pops - this renders many of the parts I am recording unusable. Any advice appreciated. Many Thanks!

Hi Simon

I had a similar problem with my Virus TI 2 Kbd. The way around it I found was to have the USB lead on it's own USB port that wasn't shared with any other device.

I have a PC housed in a tower and I now use the top USB port on the PC case and that is connected internally to the motherboards own internal USB header. Thats the only way of making sure that the Virus has it's own dedicated USB port.

I think this it mentioned in the manual somewhere too.

Hope that helps!

Wink

Have you tried another USB cable?

Try to set the Audio buffer to higher values.

Good luck Man!

Hey

I have similar problem with Sonar X1 on Windows 7 x64. I did realise that unistalling Apple software such as Quicktime and Itunes was helping me.

I do still have some issues with to high in-signal from the Virus, need to look at that soon
