Default VIRUS-c has midi virus

I don't know what it is but when i hold down a key on a keyboard and then release it this is the effect i get
when i plug out my midi cable it stops directly

Have you tried a hard reset?
Also, what MIDI interface are you using?

i have a mac pro 8-core 6gig ram

sequencers R logic ableton

my virus is connected to a um 2ex from edirol

how do you do the hardware reset

without losing my patches

cause when i changed to mac from then on I don't know how to save my patches

i don't have a manual either

You can do a D/L from the virus website.
And you do a full bank Backup, via Sysex Dump. Use Logic as the sequencer for MIDI dump.
If you don't know how to do it, it's stated in the manual.
Also, check your UM-2EX MIDI interface. sometime it locks up.
Power down for an hour and try again. Or reset that one and check/reload software.
You can also try repairing disk permissions under Utilities.
See how that goes. Let us know which one worked.
