Default The best synths to compliment Virus.

All joking aside, synths cannot speak and will never compliment you on a job well done. What a great synth can do is compliment and contrast your favoritest synth! Mine being my TI. My MS2000, Nova, nor my Nord Modular do a very good job of that. My Novation Bass Station on the other hand sounds great along side the Virus. Listing VA and soft synths is great. Although good analog synth suggestions are far better. You get more points for that... since I am shopping for one mostly.

Anything bright and/or very punchy is a good compliment - so v-synth and Radias both work very well with the TI in completely different ways for me.

Synths that compliment the Virus TI

DX7 - Bright, all out digital mayhem
Prophet 5 - Drones and strings
ProOne - Hard dirty bass
MonoPoly - Warm soft bass

Everthing else inbetween could be serviced by the TI

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

My supernova gets my vote, but I have a modular but the noise floor on this is a bit high and needing checked so not had a chance to compare with the virus.

I find the pads on my CS1x are good alongside, not keen on my ms2000 with it.

Cheers

Absynth 4 and Reaktor 5.

I know these are soft synths (as well as many other htings) but they cannot be beaten for pure unadultarated nuttiness

Yes on the Absynth. It is one weird-ass beast.

For me though...it is a second TI for one band, and I'm getting a Nord Electro for the other. While I find the Rhodes patches nice, and the Organ serviceable on the TI, a Real piano sound for rock is just a must. I may get a laptop instead and just use reason, controlled from Virus #2.
