Default How come the Live button actually creates a slight delay?

I've owned both a Virus Snow and a TI Desktop, and both seem fairly dodgy when it comes to playing arp's (not via the arp in the synth, but by midi notes). I've tried to use the Live button in the Virus Control VST. This does seem to stabilize it, BUT it creates a small delay, which is particularly annoying during arps. In short, is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

NB: I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 via its ASIO drivers, and Presonus Studio One as my DAW.

Arp sync is one of the most reported problems with VC since it first came out. Is Studio One a supported DAW?

I'd play with adjusting your buffer. The other key to getting arps to sync is to start playback on beat 1 of any bar using your quantise. being slightly out will totally fuck it. that said, they can still drop out and flip out if you repeatedly stop and start sections while mixing/producing, and the only workaround I have found is zen like patience.

that or freezing the arps during intensive microediting/mixing work.

You also may need to go into your Focusrite Scarlett Mix Control and make a few tweaks to settings and once you get it where you like it, SAVE it as one of your saved set-ups that Scarlett Mix Control allows...and of course saved in your DAW settings. I have the Scarlett 18i20 and using Reaper.

You are meant to monitor using the analog outputs when using live mode in the vsti. then it is more in time. This is the purpose of this function of the vsti button 'live'. ie it bypasses your daw and streams your selected channel out of you headphones or analog 1 left and right. After you are done recording you need to un switch the live mode.
