ps: Infected Mushroom use Trilogy for their basss (on the new album).
thats why fullon sounds so common ?
That, and the mass manufacturing of nord leads synthesizers

they all use the synthie-bass preset, thats all.

but 99% of the actual releases sounds like that. dont follow this trap, too. its just lame to use it anymore.

long time no see peeps.

vb-1 is used alot in psy. true. the new generation cd on organic records is pretty much all vb-1 for the bass and its on voice of cod's just a ride. no doubt.

but it does take alot of effort to turn a vb-1 preset into that kind of bass - most of the work is, as with 303s, in the post processing of the sound. theres very little control on the synth itself.

but to say its overused? bleh. maybe it is. or maybe its not. it sounds pretty fat and its partly responsible for destroying all dancefloors that its played on.

if it aint broke dont fix it.

Have you tried using AudioRealism Bass Line and using dynamics frequency gate in cubase? Turn it to listen then move the sliders to gate frequencys that are not needed.

TB303 + amp/Hot+ mic's = PsyBass
