Question Which FONT (Character) is used on Virus TI ?

Ez all,

I find it very compakt and aggressive, exactly like my virus Ti is

Anyone got any ideas of which one that?

I doubt the font is a standard true-type font that you could simply use. The font in the virus is probably made specifically for the os itself. If you wanted to use this font on your computer, somone would have to make a true-type copy of it.

....perhaps I am wrong though?

Like DJflan, I think it's likely a custom-designed font. It's a very low-resolution bitmap font - pixel-based, at a fixed size - to best fit the number of pixels in the given LCD display. It's not designed for scaling up/down in size (like PC true-type).

You would be able to design a true-type emulation of it for PC, but it would only look good at certain font sizes (multiples of 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. sizes of the original) otherwise the pixels will be aliased/distorted (due to the blockiness of the fixed pixed-based design).

A good example of a pixel-based true-type font for PC is Redensek. I like that font.

It looks small on our screens as we use such high resolutions compared to LCDs, but as mentioned multiples of the original pixel sizes works well.

Again, it's only ideal at certain sizes (as shown) otherwise it becomes aliased, and any anti-aliasing blurs it irregularly.

So you could translate the Virus' font over to PC, bearing in mind those same limitations.

HI all, thanks for the replys!
I wasn't clear enough, i believe.
I don't need the font which appears on the LCD screen of the synth, but the font used in all the parameters, like for example:
DELAY, REVERB, LOW EQ., MID EQ., HIGH EQ., MASTER VOLUME, ecc.ecc.

Ahh, the screen printed knob and button labels.
No don't know sorry. Perhaps take a picture and ask someone on a font graphics type forum.
