Default new pulse oscillator for ti?

The hypersaw oscillator is a big improvement over the classic saw oscillator. It's much brighter and has a lot more bite and is a great complement for the superb Virus filters.

Is there any hope we'll get a new, improved pulse oscillator some day? PWM etc with the classic oscillators is pretty wimpy compared to a lot of other synths.

You know that Hypersaw is Hyperpulse as well and that you can do PWM with the Wavetables

How is hypersaw hyperpulse?

I like the wavetable PWM but I haven't found a wavetable that sounds much like conventional PWM.

Changing the suboscillator level fades hypersaw into Hypersquare.

Somehow I missed that in the manual. Thanks! I guess you just have to pitch the oscillator up an octave to compensate, right?

Have you found a wavetable that gives PWM sounds anything like the typical square wave PWM?

I saw/heard the Hypersaw/square shift feature on one of the first TI NAMM videos, that's why I searched for it.

Yup.

At least when it comes to rich sounding spectres I have more luck using the grain tables, modulated shift/spread combinations can sound pretty close to symmetrymodulation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've mostly used that stuff for pads so far but I'm sure some interesting monophonic sounds can be found there too.

It's great for basses, since it does sound raw compared to the rather "sissy" classic or table waveforms.

Looks like the "Eat Pulse" waveform sounds a lot like PWM when you modulate the wavetable index.
