Default TI - And Coming Late to the Party!

Hi All

In the UK. Ex-muso thinking of getting back into it.

Was looking at cheapo synths like the Gaia, UltraNova, MicroKorg, etc., but the more you research these things, the more you get pulled into bigger and better instruments! Then found a Virus 2nd hand...

I had a Roland 100M System. Sold it when MIDI came out - I saw the writing on the wall and knew this CV stuff would die a death Love the idea of modular but need something easily portable for live performance so here we go with a TI!

Hi IanT, a newbie to the Access synths like you but what a fool I have been not getting one before. Got my Snow this afternoon, half an hour to set up with no problems, since then I have been in synth heaven. This synth sounds amazing and I think can do almost anything. Enjoy it mate, I know I will. All the best Glynbo

Congrats and welcome to you both.

Think you'll be very happy, the TI's a very powerful beast and is a huge cut above the Gaia/MicroKorg et al. The possibilities are gargantuan.

Thanks, Timo.

Hi Glynbo - cheers!

My TI Polar just arrived this afternoon. Had to find somewhere for it and plug it into computer speakers...! Just running through the presets.

Didn't have any manuals so printing those!

And it's heavy!! I was hoping for something light to carry around but I don't think that's going to be possible I wouldn't be using a car.

Hi Ian,

You are right about there construction, built like a tank my little Snow is, size of a brick but weighs a ton.

As to transporting your Polar, what about one of those small/ medium size suitcases with wheels and an extending handle, you can get them really cheap from some big sports shops. Our son got on for his Vox guitar amp and it works a treat.

Cheers Glynbo.

Hi Glynbo

Hmmm, there's a thought! Nice idea.

On the other hand, maybe I should have got a MiniNova...

Yep, Viruses are very sturdy for their size, German panzer technology!
