Actually, on thinking about this, the USB v1 spec wont help second hand prices (when/if a TI v2 is ever released, with massively greater bandwidth). Using USB v2 or Firewire would've otherwise ensured it to be a future classic.

sounds like DS is preparing for a nuclear holocaust. dont worry - in post apocalyptic britain ill knock on your lead lined bunker if i need replacement pots. : grin :

regarding usb. i cant really see how it would fuck up and i do believe that you are starting to get paranoid with all those old analogs around you, nearing the end of their life span. ready to FAIL at any second!

ive had USB1 on my old pentium II 266 since...god. since before half life came out. thats more than 7 years. still works. been hotplugging it loads too. and the dust that is caked around the PSU exhaust - crazy!

no sirree. USB doesnt have many mechanical parts which are subject to wear. it sits. it does its thing. it will sure as hell last longer than any mechanical part on the virus. its the bloody buttons you want to watch out for :shifty look left and right :

<knocks on DS's nuke bunker>

me: 3 virus buttons please. and 1 pot.

DS: been smoking and dusting again?

me: i decline to comment. just hand over the buttons!

Access Comparison Chart.

Virus C
Released, but discontinued.

Virus TI
Not released.

Virus C
Works well unless you want to
use sounddiver on the PC.

Virus TI
We think it may work soon.

Virus C
Doesn't have hypersaw or
wavetables.

Virus TI
We hope the final version
has working OSCs.

Virus C
Looks cool.

Virus TI
The pictures look cool.

It's not up on the Access site yet, so I thought I'd make my own little comparison chart for you guys.

there it is in black and white.
damn i wish i snavelled up one of the cheap kc's getting around last nov/dec.
I am first in the preorder line for all of australia - and i am now prepared to cancel -
because i am sick of being fed bullshit, both by access and distributors alike.

so i send this message to all those with preorders:

get over it or continue to be dissappointed.
pull your pants up, rebuckle your belt, and get off the bondage swing that is the access marketing initiative.
...and buy yourself some tried and proven gear that you can make music with NOW.

thankyou for your time.

cheers

Blay, I think you're the one making the most noise on here, it's ironic!

Personally I think you're full of bullshit too! You've absolutely no intention of buying a Evolver or NL2X, or KC even (without hindsight)!

Yes it must be bloody f'kin annoying waiting like this, it's f'kin bloody annoying for the rest of us who are desperate to simply hear user demos of it, or read the manual, or before reading the SOS review after it's properly released (I'm 110% definately NOT going to buy the Polar until reading an exhaustive independant review, given the obvious troubles Access are having)... blah blah blah.

I'm an SOS subscriber, so to me, the TI will be officially "released" when I see a TI review in that mag. Until then, nope....

Please pipe down a little. Or put your money where your mouth is for that Evolver/NL2X combo (I'll put bets on that you wont). You want the Hypersaw and wavetables too much! (As do us all )

Thanks

This is starting to be quite funny actually. You all need some perspective. Im sure that the late release of the Ti is quite an insignificant dilemma in the big scope of things. Seriously, this must be the least of your problems???

Now c'mon everyone.....fill the void with something else (A drug habit maybe?)

hehe, it was meant with a cheeky smile and in the friendliest possible way, not like a full-on me0w or handbag showdown, hence the winks.

The whole fiasco is just all getting a tad

Don't get me wrong, I'll be as intrigued as anyone when it actually starts shipping, but all these dates and so-called facts etc. are repeatedly unfounded. There's no point.
