i guess this question can't be anwered in general. the powercore and the universal audio card use PCI and/or firewire to communicate and transfer data. in theory those bus systems are entirely independent of the USB connections.
for instance in the case of the G5 i'm using to test i don't have a problem, running a TI, a powercore firewire, an RME audio card and protools at the same time.
on the other hand, one of our developers discovered side effects on his laptop and it turned out that those disappear once he changed certain energy saver settings.
the maximum channel count (in case this bottleneck is still present in a nowadays real life scenario) will likely not change once the TI is connected. but if you system is at 95% anyway, i cannot predict and generalise what would happen.
we spend a great deal of time and effort to get things right. the points you bring up are valid points and therefore you deserve an honest and serious answer. i believe that the drivers we provide are as good as the ones of serious audio hardware manufacturers and therefore will not dissappoint.
hope that helps a little
