I get the digital out to work, you have to sync to it. Also you have to choose output 1 LR and not a USB 1 or USB 2 or output 2 LR output 3 LR.

the only way to get the virus to sync to your spdif is to not use the VC plugin. As soon as you open the VC plugin it syncs to the host program clock and not your spdif.

My RME fireface has a setting 'clock mode' set it to - AutoSync. The 'Pref. Sync Ref' set to -SPDIF In.

Plug the SPDIF OUT from the TI to the SPDIF IN on the RME. and whamo, you have sync. You are stuck at 44.1 or 48K in this case. Then you can go to DDS tab and tick - Active. and set 'Freq. Multiplier to - x2 and you can have 88.2 and 96K

In Config on the TI you can choose Audio Clock page and set the Frequency, how ever, this doesn't seem to work on mine at the moment, it says 'synced to host'. But I have the reason and must also correct my first post. You have to pull out the USB cable to set the frequency to 44.1 or 48. 'Synced to Host' means USB is plugged in, don't even think about it.

I'd have to experiment more to see how it goes with VC, I have done it and it is the only way to record from spdif. Without sync you have a funny crunchy distortion that you cant really notice until you eq and stuff.

I just finished the Cubase project at 88.2K with VC and synced to the TI. It takes a bit of doing, ie Cubase keeps kicking you back to 44.1 but after the 3rd try under the project menu setting the rate back to 88.2 it finally stuck.

The fun starts when you make an external instrument with 3 stereo busses and 2 mono busses (2 analog stereo 2 analog mono and SPDIF stereo) Then you can monitor the TI in Cubase and ad fx to analog etc.
