HI JordanNaumov that's a nice little set up, i see your using a creation station to house all your goodie's, been thinking about getting one of these myself, just how good are they? Oh and what are those blue pad thingy's under your monitors? all the best.

Virus Ti and MiniMoog Voyager, what else is there?

Thanks mate! The desk is awesome however the only thing i have to criticize is that the rubber trim on the bottom part of the desk has came off in some areas but mostly around where your feet sit. Whether or not i got a dodgy one with out enough glue or the fact that i rest my feet in a bad spot i don't know. Ether way it's hardly a big issue and i could fix it in about five minutes with a tube of super glue for $2.

But yeah other than that it's the bomb. I would definitely recommend it!

Also you probably can't see from my photo but there's actually a cable tray hidden at the back designed to catch all your cables from hanging down at the back of the desk. This is a really really awesome feature. Top desk.

Those blue things under my monitors are just small rectangular pieces of high density foam i had cut from a place called Clark Rubber which is just a big rubber/foam supplier we have in Australia. They cost me like $10 - $15 or something and work an absolute treat.

Virus Ti and MiniMoog Voyager, what else is there?

Virus Ti
Moog Voyager RME
Novation Remote SL compact
RME Fireface 400
Alesis M1 Actives
24" iMac, 2.93 processor, 4GB ram, 1.6 TB HD
Logic & Ableton

I also have a Roland MKS-50 but because i don't have the PG-300 it's pretty much useless so that sits in my cupboard. I'm saving it for the day that i need some hoovers :)

Not in the same league as some of the previous posters, but here is my home studio:

http://www.type34.info/temp/My%20equipment/mini-IMG_2397.JPG

On the left is a Novation Nocturn, an ESI ESU1808 soundcard, the Virus and a Roland JV1080.
Shure SM-58 microphone
The keyboard is an M-Audio Keystation 88-ES.
AKG-K240 headphones
M-Audio speakers, and between them the keyboard is a Yamaha DX-21, bought new in 1986.
Most of the work, of course, is done in software on the laptop.

What beautiful studios you all have...

My new studio Raum 416 is still somewhat unfinished, lots of thing left to do...
(cabling management, buying and setup of monitors, probably another keyboard to deploy, all kinds of stuff...)
My virus is currently defective and I'm waiting for its return from repair, after that I'll bring it in and totally integrate it. :-)
So there's merely a photo of the temporary setup.
Here we go...

Needed to change direction with sequencing/sampling. I'm now all ITB. Even for live sets. The MPC500 is a great little device....if only it weren't tainted with bugs of the worse kind..... when you're saving. I sold the MPCs for an APC40 and an LPD8 because the Mac is proving to be far more stable (knock on wood) and liberating. I'll see how it goes. I've actually got some opening shows coming up within the next couple months so I need to get cracking on putting together the thousand loops I've made and finish all those half completed tracks. :)

http://audio-kinetic.iswiz.com/plaid_emu/1109.JPG

Got this little 7 inch touchscreen LCD for taking the MacMini to gigs.

http://audio-kinetic.iswiz.com/plaid_emu/TS01.JPG

Everything that's not rack-mounted is held in place with heavy duty Velcro.

I'm afraid mine can't really stand up to comparison with most of those shown, but here is is anyway:

http://www.type34.info/temp/My%20equipment/mini-IMG_2543.JPG

Virus Rack and Quasimidi Raven. The Raven is mostly used as a controller keyboard, but is fun to mess about with.

http://www.type34.info/temp/My%20equipment/mini-IMG_2544.JPG

Emu Emax II and Roland JX-8P for that vintage sound.

Thanks, but it has been self built!!!! :)
originally there was only the main table shelf...then I added the upper shelf (bought @ IKEA, just selected the correct lenght shelf and added the "feets")
Then bought the keyboard runners from a local DIY shop (but you can find them easily on ebay) and bought the 12U Rack from SAMSON... it fits perfectly under the table!
That's all! Glad you appreciate the result! :)

Nice stuff Berni especially like the disco G5.

I'd post pics of my 'studio' but quite basic these days. :|

Thanks Andrew, yeah I'm very happy with the way it came out...been a long time since I spent anything on it so I thought I would splurge since I spend so much time in there. The G5 is always a hit at the 'back to mine's'
I hear what your saying about the more minimal approach. I use only a handful of VI's/samplers now...battery3 for drums, Stylus RMX for loops & the Virus, Massive & Absynth for the rest. The audio editing facilities in pro tools are so good I rarely need a traditional sampler & I pretty much just use the fx that come with PT.

I recently spent over $1,000 on a chair, it is quite possibly the most important piece of gear I own!

Wassup man. TBH I have been really busy & not had a lot of time to spend with it since I got it. Just about got through the quick start manual & watched a few tutorials but so far I'm loving it. It works great with Live & Pro tools & is also good in stand alone. The best part is I can actually use the Virus Control software with it! Yeah! For the first time since I got it 4 years ago my Virus is actually integrated! Of course you can use any VST or AU plug ins with it & you can also use any midi keyboard if you prefer that to the pads. The pads are very responsive & I actually prefer them to the Akai ones. I primarily got it to put down beats with but you could do a whole track with it without even going into your DAW. I'm probably going to use it with Live for most of my future projects & also in stand alone to just make up loops & such.
If you have had an MPC in the past & like the pattern based work flow then this thing will blow you away with its flexibility, cant recommend it enough for the $.

Hi All

Long time no visit - many changes in my life but hey ho. I have recently started diving into music making again, and spotted this thread so thought I'd have a bit of a fun challenge for those who want to waste some time.

See how many items in my studio set up you can correctly guess. There's one or two thrown in there that are not easy and are just for fun.

It's not as plush as many studios I've seen here, but it seems to work OK for me.

nice setup man ;) but you should probably think about placing the speakers correctly! and what about that window? does it create sound problems on the room? those can be tricky! you could do the trick for speakers with some tripods or something, cheap and easy... cheers

How should I place the speakers? I am more than happy to listen and learn. This is my conservatory and so there's windows all around me here I'm afraid, though I am not sure how it could create sound problems in the room. I might look into tripod stands or similar... thanks.

Damn!... you're goooood :)

Mixer is a Yamaha MW12 - very good but a few years old now. Since I took this pic (only a day or so ago) I've added a Saffire Pro14 as my main sound device so I now route the audio from the Yamaha through to that - the difference in sound quality is very noticeable. I also have a sE X1 mic and small sound booth which I am going to use to record my daughters vocals and her friends guitar playing. #7 by the way, is a Boss DR880 drum machine - again, very nice with lots of patterns and sounds... good for inspiration and laying down a riff, but I tend to use the Macschine Mikro for the sounds. The KORG Karma remains an excellent all rounder I have to say... I love the lush pad combi's it is capable of producing. It also has some fantastic drum patterns and sounds so I do tend to use it for those too. Besides, it's my first synth and I'd never ever ever sell my 'burgundy baby'. I also have a KORG RADIAS which is pretty decent for trance/dance etc, but I have loaned that to a friend for now.

The Virus TI though.... wowza, my main and by far, best synth.

You're right also about Albino - it is incredible and I love it. I have also taken a look at Uhe DIVA... some fantastic fat sounds on that, but very processor intensive.

Seriously, thanks for replying, I'd love to hear back from you with any advice you can offer - I am very much still learning.

You know what i would find disturbing in my studio....all those arrows pointing at my equipment....doesn't this get in your way...? ;)
Haha..... loads of arrows but no bows though Prime NL... I can't play strings :)

Hey guys,

It's time for an update ;) I've built myself a new desk (inspired from Armin Van Buuren's idea) to get myself more working space!

Here we go:

This is the thing I loved in Armin's studio. Now I can roll out a synth that I need, instead having silly amounts of rack units at my room ;)
