im using virus t.i. with virus control in ableton live.
is it possible to use vst effects and EQ on my virus sounds without flattening them to audio?
because the 16 separate midi channels are routed to the different output channels on the virus control, they dont contain the sound, only midi information. so u cant put vsts on them like i would normally do.

sorry if im missing something obvious here, but how do i get around this?

any ideas or methods are greatly appreciated! :)

Use the alternative USB outs routed into new audio tracks in Live. For the new audio track in Live select input as virus then 2 or 3 depending on the USB out you selected for that part.

This is set for each of the 16 parts in Virus Control. You have 3 USB outs to choose from.

thanks crossfire,

ok ive re-watched the ableton live tutorial video and that made a bit more sense this time round.

it says using the "utility" plugin is the key to splitting the virus parts.
for the mono outs like "USB 1 L" or "USB 1 R" does this mean u can only have these parts in Mono?
i still dont really understand how to go about this tho....
can anybody elaborate plz?

also my USB 3 outs are not selectable...(i can see them but cant click on them) but in the ableton input channel chooser i can only see "2-Virus TI" & "3-Virus TI" but no "1-Virus TI" ...any idea why?
