Help..... Fellow sound designers

I need to know which patch is close or how to get close myself to this high bell like sound (dooooo.do.do.do.............do.do.do) from U2 http://www.thegirlnextdoor.de/newyearsday.mp3

Cheers lads......

Its an EQd piano with loads of (metal plate?) reverb, compressed post EQ I think. Original synth might even be a U20 - no idea what U2 used back then.

Start with the hi piano patch on the TI - pile on the reverb, fiddle with colour, EQ it - that piano might be a bit sharp tho, and the reverb on the TI probably wont quite match the required color - resonance on 100% key follow will help a bit.

as for piano...I think U2 used a Yamaha CP70/80 back then....

..with tons of FXs...

High bell? Lol.

Not with a virus that's for sure. VAs don't do acoustic pianos all that well. ;)

BTW, U2 is my fav band in the world. Edge is my idol.

Check out patch 1 in my soundset, it's an acoustic piano emulation I did. Sounds pretty good IMO, though I'd love to know what others think of it.

One of my Favourites also, but the best ever has to be Depeche mode for sure...

Hmm - just found a good CP80 preset on my Motif ES - definately kore than a passing resemblence when you pile on reverb and squash the hell out of it :)

Dunno why I never thought of using it before as a U20/M1 style piano subsititute...
