Help..... Fellow sound designers
I need to know which patch is close or how to get close myself to this high bell like sound (dooooo.do.do.do.............do.do.do) from U2 http://www.thegirlnextdoor.de/newyearsday.mp3

Its an EQd piano with loads of (metal plate?) reverb, compressed post EQ I think. Original synth might even be a U20 - no idea what U2 used back then.
Start with the hi piano patch on the TI - pile on the reverb, fiddle with colour, EQ it - that piano might be a bit sharp tho, and the reverb on the TI probably wont quite match the required color - resonance on 100% key follow will help a bit.

as for piano...I think U2 used a Yamaha CP70/80 back then....
..with tons of FXs...

Check out patch 1 in my soundset, it's an acoustic piano emulation I did. Sounds pretty good IMO, though I'd love to know what others think of it.

Hmm - just found a good CP80 preset on my Motif ES - definately kore than a passing resemblence when you pile on reverb and squash the hell out of it
Dunno why I never thought of using it before as a U20/M1 style piano subsititute...
