How do you open up a Virus KC?
I've got a few keys on my KC that take a little extra pressure to sound. I tried opening the thing up by removing what I thought were the obvious screws but had no luck. Does anyone know which screws need to be removed to gain access to the keys?

Hi!
you have to unscrew the screws on the sides of the virus outlying the wooden sides and on the back side under the jacks board. then take a look at the two screws in the bottom of you KC left the wheels then you have to mess a bit with the top board removal - there should be a bit of fortune as well :) |
Keys, as in the white/black keys? Or keys as in buttons?
If the notes, it's really easy. ![]() ^ My Indigo. ![]() ^ Turned over, all highlighted screws need to be removed. ![]() ^ Turned over again. The keybed now slips out! ![]() ^ The keybed is still attached via a ribbon cable, shown highlighted, so this needs to be disconnected. ![]() ^ Indigo sans keybed. Of course the Indigo will be different to yours, but hopefully not too much. |
I'm about to open up my KC and replace a key, I hadn't seen anything like this on the net anywhere, my god I hope the keyboard in the KC comes out like that. It would make things so much easier. Also just thought I'd mention, dealing with Access for replacement parts was seriously the easiest thing ever. What an outstanding company.
