Default latency recording

all my recordings have a little latency(audiophile soundcard)while all asio drivers seems to work r8,i delete the empty space with an editor,i have a prob with the basslines.
I delete the empty space, but every hit of the bass exept the first isnt on r8 time, this isnt very noticable but its still a mistake.
I cant undarstand it,if it was just latency ALL notes would have the same amount of latency,so if u delete the first it would be solved.
any suggations?

Need to ask you a few questions before anyone will help you I think.

Is the latency occuring with softsynths or hardware?

What sequencer are you using?

What computer are you using?

Just remember....when recording, use a lower buffer (512 or less) and when mixing, you can use the highest setting (1024)

But doesn't sequencer's latency compensation take care of this thing?

Not sure...actually I must admit having not read the thread in its entirety, and was referring to audio recording....but with MIDI latency, I have no idea.

I use Mac and naturally...dont ever have an problems with this type of thing
