Virus A tabletop does not trigger.

I recently picked up a used tabletop Virus A with OS 1.54. I am having problem triggering it. I have check the midi signal with 3 other pieces of gear and I am quite sure the signal being sent into the midi in of the Virus is working, I am just getting no sound from the unit.

The volume is turned all the way up, the demo does produce sound, and I have used the ?hold both LFO buttons and power up? feature to reset the unit. Still, I cannot get the unit to trigger from any device that transmits midi ( Oxygen 8, Novation SuperNova 2, or Emu Command Station).

The simplest attempt to trigger the Virus is from my Oxygen 8?s midi out to the midi in of the Virus; however, I get no sound. Is there some special setting that I don?t know about? The documentation of the Access site does not include version 1.54. I also attempted to update the thing, but it seems that the midi in is just not working

Am I missing something here? .
