Safari Roadblocks Virus-TI Operation

How is it that every time that I use the internet to get answers for Logic while I'm in the middle of a Virus-TI project, and when I return to close the current project and open another Virus-TI project, the Virus-TI refuses to start up? I then have to shut every thing down and restart the Mac computer and the Virus. Then open Logic's preferences > Audio > Input, and select Access Virus-TI again. Is Safari the problem, or is it Logic 9, or OsX 10.6.8?
There is no problem if I don't close and open between Virus-TI projects while internet is on my computer. Internet must be shut off first while in use during a TI project. Any one else experienced this problem? Any answers to cure the problem besides: don't use the internet on same computer?
