Default Ableton Live sends unwanted preset edit messages to KC

Hi, new member here, so forgive me if this is a well known issue.

This is a problem I've had for a while

I have an Access Virus KC linked to Live 9 via midi. Problem was also happening in Live 8

Whenever I am playing the Virus through Live MIDI, Live keeps changing the patch settings.

What happens:

- I choose a preset on the Virus. The name and number of the preset shows in the Virus readout (e.g. G40).

-Then, something happens that makes Live send a signal to theVirus that modifies the patch. Sometimes it can be an action on my part. For example, I load a M4L device. Instantly the Virus readout shows that the patch has changed (it now says g40 - the cap changing to a small letter is how Virus shows it has received an edit to the patch and the sound is different - e.g. a filter envelope setting will be different)

- BTW in Live but there is no record of the change in the clip (if I open the Live clips envelope tab, no automation changes show).

Anyone know what is going on?
