I had the same problem. I used a usb interface that I've used without problems. I think it is a problem with the virus.
I was loading the mega soundset from the ampfea.org site. I used Sysex Librarian which is a great program for mac. I wouldn't use Sounddiver for Virus ever. Anyway, when I was loading the sound banks I would get the checksum error. But I also noticed the patches were being loaded anyway. So I had the errors but really no problems. I got the patch names and etc. I suggest using MidiOx(PC) or Sysex Librarian(Mac).
