I've got the same problem - blank screen on booting up. When deplugging the power supply and trying to switch on again, it worked fine.
But even the update didn't solve the problem. According to access it COULD be a hardware defect. But if you experience the same problems, I hope, it can be solved by a software update  Cheers, glen
