How can I use the TI POLAR keyboard when it sequencer mode?

How can I use the TI POLAR keyboard when it sequencer mode?
I'm using Cubase SX3 and everytime I boot it up, the local mode is turned off automatically(I understand why this happens, but for some reason this prevents me from playing the keyboard while writing a tune).

Anyone would know?
This is not a latency issue,nothing comes out of the keyboard in Cubase(outside of Cubase everything is fine). I might reset my Cubase preferences to see if this works but I'd like to know if other people had similar issues.

The issue is specific to the TI, I don't have this problem when using my other hardware synths in midi.
