Good evening,

I'm listening to a lot of Hospital Records output at the moment.

Danny Byrd's Supersized album and the new London Elecktricity single 'Attack Ships on Fire'. Their podcasts are superb.

I love 'Don't You Know' by Shockone ft. Elisha King.

Lowfish 'Burn the Lights Out' album, fantastic!

Ladytron 'Velocifero' fantastic fourth album.

A few tracks by Autokratz.

'Little Bit of Feel Good' by Jamie Lidell.

Cheers,

Dave.

"International Dateline" by Ladytron kicks ass, as do a few other songs on that album. I bought it off iTunes last year.

I checked out some of Oakenfold's Essential Mixes from 1999. Killer classic trance with a good edgy feel to so much of it, and tracks included:

Sisko - Light Over me (Gate of Light Remix)
Mara - One (Hamel Remix)
Fat Heads - Music 4 Lunch
Sunset Sky - A New World

There's some classic Carl Cox stuff I'm reading up on at the moment, will post them when I've got the exact details (reading YouTube comments/replies to a few of his sets...)

Have you heard Steve Roach?

Amazing and productive sound designer/producer/composer making "soundworlds" for almost 30 years now I think. His material is real vibrant and organic for electronic music. He's very connected to nature and you can sense it in his work. Look at this dude's discography. He's had like 5-10 releases a year for at least the last decade.

Some of it pure synths.......

Sometimes he uses ancient percussion and various ethnic instruments.

He also makes these albums that are like one 70 something minute track of really complex and spacious, evolving drones.

All very spiritual and trance like. Most of it cuts right into your brain's primordial pleasure centers but can also be kind of dark and alienating at times. It's absolutely THE music to experience when walking the forests or deserts alone at night on a shroom fueled, soul searching, peyote binge. Or just winding down the final moments of an evening while it lulls you into the dream state (A daily ritual for me. Even with my battery powered ipod speakers in a hotel room or a tent.)

Wow, Plaid_Emu, excellent reply! I have never heard of Steve Roach.

I might just have to check out a batch of his work on my wind down later this evening...

One last tip from me, if you have not already found it, check out www.lavamus.com as it is the ultimate MP3 resource, around 15 cents per track or less depending on how much you start your account with. They have a ridiculous selection of stuff to choose from.

Ciao!

I'm really getting into a group called Styles of Beyond.
Kind of like a harder edged Tribe Called Quest.
