Hello IamEvil,

No its not the effects of any other light that makes up a patch, its the other lights that are not suppose to be active or do anything that are freaking out and pulsing.......not the LFO's either.........the weird thing is that its my second unit from the music store and here is the kicker......I got up yesterday morning and tried playing the demo song for the first time on this 2nd unit and it will not even play the whole way through without introducing some sort of constant square wave that overrides the song and will not go away until you power off the unit.........tried the demo song like 7 times and last night when that noise came on, it whipped out all of the lights completely........I had to do a hard restore from the virus control to get it back to normal.........it even screwed up the patch that it was set to before the demo song was played........this on is for real screwed up...........talking with the music store to try yet another one when they get one in stock.........just feel like since we spend this much money........it should work 100% straight out of the box........the guys at access have been really good about these problems, but I feel that since I am within my 30 return policy, the music store should make it right for now.....

two times DOA in a row sounds a bit improbably ... nevertheless it's not impossible.

have you ever tried the Virus together with another computer and other USB cable?
or have the guys at the music store tested the 1st unit after you brought it back?

maybe call them up and ask them for confirmation of the symptoms
and also take the Virus to another Computer, to sort this reason out.

good luck!

Have not tried any of those options yet, but I do know that the music store confirmed the LED's freaking out on the first one I sent back..........will try it on another computer, but these symptoms all happen without using VC or a sequencer, but have not tried it with the USB cable unplugged or at another location using another computer.........HMMMMMMM I am curious to see now..........Yes that is true.....it is way crazy for 2 DOA machines though........maybe just my bad luck I suppose........lol

THANKS for the input psy604

if the lights are freaking, even if only connected to the power supply ...
the power supply could be the reason, too (maybe they packed another brand / specs).
can't imagine that they test the unit together with the shipped power supplies at Access.
they probably have one on the desktop, which they plug from one unit to the next ...
only a suspicion, but who knows

you on 110 or 220 Volt in your country?

That sounds like really horrible luck there.

I thought power may have been the issue with my C that was having similar trouble too, but after trying a few different adapters, and trying my C in a different studio, it was clear that it wasn't. Definitely worth trying this out though Dot.

If it helps, I have not had the same trouble since I got a good C, and this is going back a few years now. Hopefully you will have the same luck soon. Hang in there.

Hey guys, THANKS for the support...........I have decided to not try anything since I am still within my "defective product return policy" with the music store and I sent the 2nd Virus TI Polar back to the store..... .......they have been in contact with Access about this issue. The customer support guy at the music store is hoping to get "issue free" Virus's in on there next shippment .........ME TOO...............lol........the music store is now out of stock, because I had there last 2 in stock, so I am waiting patiently on there next shipment of Fresh New Virus TI's..........I just figure that there was a bad batch made at some point back in 2006, since the last 2 units had OS build August 2006.............

AC/DC adapter for use in the US should have 110V / ??Hz primary => 12V / 1A secondary.
(in germany we have 220V / 50Hz primary voltage)
that can be verified with a multimeter, just in case the 3rd Virus has freaking lights, too.
