20% discount in the Access Music Store - will the Virus TI discontinued at NAMM 2011?
hey guys,
as you might have seen, we have a great special in the Access Music Store this weekend: 20% discount on everything, including Virus TI synths, soft bags and other accessories.
now the reason why i bring this up on the forum is a comment posted to our facebook page. we were ask if we are clearing stock and make room for a new Virus TI which we will announce on NAMM in january. the answer is: no. the virus TI line will not be discontinued, in fact there will be software feature updates in the future - details i cannot disclose at the time being but we will do everything to make you smile

have a great weekend.

So if we buy one this weekend, we won't regret it in a month or two when a TI3 comes out?

Heh, well he did say the TI line was not being discontinued, so within that scope a TI3 could definately be added to the product line

I know. As awesome as a TI3 would be, hopefully we're just reading too deeply into this. lol I'm literally buying a TI2 this weekend, so I want to make sure I won't regret not waiting.

Well the discounts right now are deep enough that you can be sure you won't get a TI3 as cheap. It just makes one wonder why they are discounting the things as much now, and if you look at the historical lifecycle of the product, it would make sense if something new is announced at NAMM. When I say something new, I don't mean I'm predicting obsolescence of TI2... obsolescence is not so much of an issue with musical instruments... how old are the older Virus models and folks use them with great success?
The question comes in for those who want the latest and greatest. For those I still say wait and see what comes from NAMM.

i didn't think you would try to read so much in between the lines we will not show a Virus TI hardware update on the NAMM, is that clear enough?
cheers, marc

I think what you're saying is that USB 2.0 will finally be supported properly after all these years? Yay!

The Virus sure IS an infection. One of those retrovirus which once taken you won't get rid of, but less painful or damaging once you tried one, and (like me) it's relatively a small time you have one, you fear there's a new model coming out and you know you WANT to grab it asap.

This is what I like about the Access and Virus, the continuing OS development keeps progressing the hardware itself. I would hate to see the TI or TImk2 be discontinued too soon.
