hehe I know, but if you have reason it's a great idea
can add effects from reason thats very nice and don't eat up your cpu.
AND you can use all the other synths for nice effects

Yes. That's a completely different story then.

Ever wondered why it doesn't eat up your CPU? The reason why NI software eats up a bit more CPU is not because of bad coding, but because of quality. I would rather die than use any of Reason effects.

I just played around with Reason yesterday and realised that no matter what you do, it still sounds like shit. There's two main problems: 1. The filters are even worse than on freeware VSTi's. 2. Something wrong with the mixing algorithm because it messes up the treble completely.

Not sure though are those problems fixed in 2.5.

Thanks for all ideas! Time for a new topic? What about softsynths. I've just tried the PPG wave and LM9, or something, and I didn't really like what I was hearing. Doe's anyone pro use them seriously?

If you want the mother of all softsamplers, then you need MOTU's Mach Five. It comes out on the PC in a few months, though. But it does use the same UVI engine as the Spectrasonics stuff, like Atmosphere, so the sound is simply incredible. I have used both this on the Mac and Kontakt on the PC. With my ears there is no comparison, Mach Five ROCKS!

Yeah i know what u mean Juho...Reason always sounded thin to me...atleast the synth aspects of it...it also lacks bass..if u go down in pitch it gets grindy instead of deeper...the virus does this too but not as quick when going down in pitch...the virus has range...but reason just seems to be hi's...i have heard ppl get bass out of it but they used mass plugins on it to make it full...

peace
