I talked to a retailer that my company deals with and they have been selling intel chips for 15 years and in that whole time only 2 have failed. They sold 2 AMD chips, and they both failed.

Straight from the horses mouth

i didn't try it yet blay, i need to save all my data (20Go :S ) first before i format the disk.

Gopal: i know a lot of people who use AMD and they never hard any problem. I know 3D designers who tried both and noticed AMD was in many renderings faster than its Intel equivalent, and of course, not to mention that most games are best rendered using AMD proc.

done

i bought a 120Go maxtor hard disk and mounted the new m/b and the XP 3000+proc. It is running at FSB 400Mhz, in phase with the 512 kingston RAM....and right now things are still ok, i didn't try recording audio yet to compare the cpu speed, but as far as general windows and internet use go, it is quite fast! no regrets, and i hope i won't be disappointed....

i'll keep future amd users informed
