someone in this forum was very convinced that this sound is from the virus, but the more I try, the less can't I believe this. The virus has a total different timbre and character... No way its a virus

Well I played alongside Lab 4 a few years ago and from what I remember, the lead sound from Candyman was done with a Jupiter 8.

has anyone got a jupiter here?
has anyone got a jupiter here? if so, could you imagine the jupiter to be able to sound exactly like this?
the jupiter isn't very complex imho, so should be easy to recreate?

just remember, before jumping to the conclusion that it's not a virus sound, that as previously stated, analog overdrive played a huge part in their productions, so possibly investing in some hardware ouboard gear to overdrive, you might get very close to the sound you want.

Nope, you won't get that lead out of the Virus. The filters don't have the same sound.
