Footy thoughts so far anyone?

Wow! What a game! Credit to Swedes for getting their act together in the 2nd. England were fucking awesome in the 1st. Crouch.. Jesus. Eriksson would NEVER have picked the freak if he were still at Southampton. He's shite! Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, brilliant. This is a good team, mates. England take too long to settle after K.O. We gotta come out firing and confident.

Finland do have a decent national side. Remember they held Germany in Germany few years ago to help England qualify and send krauts to playoffs (2002?). Their youth teams are really strong now and interest in the game has increased exponentially over the last 10 years. Remember, this is hockey country and the footy season (summer) is pretty short. There are indoor facilities though and kids are pretty keen now that they've had a few heroes to look up to - Litmanen, Hyppi?, Forsell, J??sk?l?inen, Riihilahti, Tainio all doing well in English Prem. Well, not Litmanen any more but he was the first at Ajax then Liverpool.

Indeed. Joe Cole was great, he really was the keyplayer in the first 45 minutes of the game and still one hell of a player during the second.

I still think that Cole's goal was really nice. I mean look at our "wannabe Beckham" - Kim 'I still think i can score!' K?llstr?m. He still belives after all these years in the Swedish team that he can score. (Aye, well he can score sometimes) but he usually just misses the goal completly and Lagerb?ck just still uses him since K?llstr?m has a really powerful shot but nontheless worthless since he can't really aim except at Swedish players. He bloody gave Isaksson a concussion and memoryloss from one of his shots during practice!

Sweden's 1st was world class. They should've got another with exactly the same corner move but from the right a few minutes later when you hit the bar. *GASP!* England's defence was very shaky for the rest of the game after that. Then the 2nd Sverige goal. Oh oh oh.. Campbell.. Robinson looks suspect too.
