I believe if you can find a copy of Sonar 5 (for about ?129) you can upgrade for free to Sonar 6.

Sonar 5 and earlier had no native support for VST/VSTi, instead a wrapper was used - this was the primary reason I have went with Sonar in the past and instead went with Cubase.

Sonar 6 finally includes native VST/VSTi support, however I suspect that it is VST2.x only, maybe only 2.3. This is sufficient to run most if not all current VST/VSTi plugins, though I would expect that with C4 and VST3 out, then around the Vista release point when alot of companies are planning on major upgrades (to support 64 bit primarily), then some may jump on the VST3 bandwagon (which could be an issue for Sonar 6 and Live 6) - I guess only time will tell. Of course, hopefully they will both soon include some degree of hosting support for VST3 un an update if we are lucky.

Ive gone with C4 for now, but at the same time, am really coming to the conclusion that while it it very good for post production and tracking certain types of arrangements, its a complete arse for the way I do alot of things here - so am thinking of getting something else as well - maybe Live 6.

Logic 5 is a great sequencer. I'm not changing from Sonar 2. Found too often that more features = less music.

Yo Matsa,or anyone else !!
I have noticed that Live has an option that lets you choose your VST folder,so live can search it for VSTs.Can this also be done with Sonar??Because all my Plugs are in my Logic VST folder !

I can choose my VST folder with Sonar 2, yeps. Check the demo of Sonar 6 mate. Think it's a 30 day fully functioning trial.
