Default Korg ER-1 Vs. ER-1 MkII

Is there anything new in MkII besides the better look? I was thinking of buing one but I realised it must be the same machine as the older version. I think I?ll buy the ER-1 2nd hand. What do you think???

Unio, Ring Mod has been replaced by Cross Mod. It's up to you which feature you would rather have. I prefer the knobs on the new model however. But the build is still plastic, just less noticeable. The color is closer to a dark brown if you haven?t seen it yet. I played with it for about an hour at the store. I don?t know if headphones do these things justice or not, try to get it hooked up to monitors. For me, the want is there. But not jump out of my seat to grab one or get on a waiting list type of want. I?m not sure why this is regarded as a toy though; I haven?t gotten a chance to go through all the features. I?m not big on drum machines either. I know there are pro's that use it? Such as Icon of Coil. I wonder if it's just for the kick or sequencer though.

If anybody could point out some positives and negitives of this drum machine I would greatly appreciate it.

This post has gone on far longer than it should have...

I just bought the old ER-1 2nd hand. I paid 150euros for it. I think it?s just what I needed. I?ve been lacking some great drums and all kinds of blibs and blobs and the ER is just what I wanted. It sounds great and you can get very unique drum sounds out of it. The kicks kick ass . And I think I bought it cheap.
