Im scared.......

If it aint broke, dont fix it?

I cant afford to have incompatabilities...or bugs etc Or should I be a little more confident that they have ironed out all the issues with version 2?

Hmmm.........

Good question Jasedee,

You never can tell with Steinberg. I am of the opinion that they are sorting out the problems that have seen them releasing software full of bugs. SL2.2 is solid for me.

I like the looks of the inplace editor and the new way of creating songs by managing patterns - something they should have done a while ago!

Certainly looks like some good improvements - enough to warrant a new release - another change there then. I think they may actually be listening to their customers.

Only time will tell.

Unfortunately, a software upgrade is quite far down my list of "things I want". I think before a software update I have UAD-1, high quality mic (Neumann TLM103) or stereo mic......and maybe another VA.

Oh.....and I want to do some sound treatment to my room.

Oh wait......and I need to.......well, the list goes on.

There is a lot of talk at the moment about a UAD-2 coming out.

Obviously these are just rumours but there are an awful lot more than normal!

It certainly sounds feasible - imagine the extra power that ould be harnessed from a modern 3D GPU chip!

Might be worth holding your horses for as long as you can - definately worth checking out eh rumours first!

The upgrade from 1->3 & 2->3 is the same price 149 euros. Even if you`ve just bought the upgrade 1->2 you`ll get no special discount for the 2->3. I think this sort of attitude from steinberg will loose alot customers. On the cubase forums when rumours started to go around about sx3 being released they were denied by steinberg employee`s also.

Alot of the features in sx3 have already been in other sequencers. Abelton Live and Sonar is a couple to name. Seems Sx3 is just a catch up to keep steinberg in the market.

I really hope they have made the freeze alot faster this time. It certainly wasnt the best freeze function I`ve seen.
