Default Juno-D

Anyone have any thoughts on this latest generation Juno? Anyone heard any demos?

I can imagine a whole lottta analogue/digital debate here......

Cheers,

Jase

the name juno d is just a commerical stunt...
this synth is a typical romplayer/workstation from roland
and has nothing to do with the legondery 80s junos.

Actually it's a "rich" man's Casio. One of those one-man-band kind of things. And all I can say is that it's load of rubbish.

it is a real shame they called it Juno, it is a big name for (certainly) a little synth!

hehehe.......some very opinionated views here!

So, has anyone heard it? is it similar to the Virus, or Nord? a VA? I dont even know what a rompler is, but Im guessing it is a synth that stores it's samples in ROM???

Anyone know what it will retail for?

Cheers,

Jase

A ROMpler is a synth that has samples stored in ROM.

Rather than patches being stored in ROM where the sound is generated on the fly as with the Virus, a ROMpler does not generate sounds it just plays back prerecorded sounds. You then have the usual envelopes, filter, LFOs etc to modulate the sound, but the initial sound is predefined.

Pff.. I would call this synthesizer, the best ever made by humans. Only monkeys can bring us technology that are more hightech than this one. (that is if the monkeys think we are mature enough to handle such awesome powers their technology has)

Doesn't apply with this I'm affraid. It's not a VA, so....

I can't believe they used the Juno name for this thing. Roland marketing needs to look closer at it's strategy "It's radio ready". Fools.

Most romplers sound static even though you can manipulate envelopes and add effects. They soon get boring (unless you want to use them for the pianos and woodwinds).
