Whats the Virus TI Wavetable gonna sound like?!

Will it sound similar to the Waldorf XTK? That kinda wavetable sound? Will it be as flexible? How many wavetable waveforms will there be? Or is it using the pre-existing 68 digital waveforms from the original Virus range?

Any clarification would be appreciated.....as im really excited

Some one plz respond. Its a fundemental question. Can anyone from Access clarify the waveforms used? Is it going to hold banks of wavetables ala PPG wave style....or it it smoothly sweeping the existing 64?

If the Virus's have been tested, manufactued and are nearly shipping, somebody must know something. Access are strangely quiet.

I emailed Access a day or two ago about TI mp3 demos and they said they are still working on it.

A new VA.....Korg havent done that for a while....could be interesting. What a proper polyphonic VA......things are looking good.

But how would Access know? Korg are hardly gonna send them a memo first are they? And if I remember correctly, the first rumours about a new Korg surfaced after the rumours about the TI were leaked..

I think they both leaked out into the general public domain at exactly the same time, although the Korg effort has remained a rumour.
Access would have keenly kept their ears, eyes and noses to the ground, though - in the name of business and stern competition, they would have had to. Still, no demos or information about the wavetables aspect would indicate that Access may have brought forward the TI announcement?

As duplicated elsewhere....

I'm waiting 'til at least NAMM, and maybe for the Sound On Sound review too, seeing as Access are being obtusely quiet about some of the particulars of the synth (however, in true Access style, I'd imagine the 'particulars' to be excellent, in line with the TI spec').
I have a laptop purchase impending first, though. Release the Centrino 2, Intel, goddamit! It's two months late already!

If Korg come out with something absolutely stomping (and it would take a lot to surpass the TI), I may even end up considering the Korg effort and keeping my Indigo (I did love MOSS, and Korg's more condusive, more functional programming architecture). We'll have to see.

But getting back to DS's question about the Wavetable osc, here's a quote from the Access Website:

"This unique algorithm can blend waves to create evolving motion or switch between them to create gritty lo-fi textures"

So it sounds like it does both smooth motion and switching between them.
