Default Does anyone here still use analog recording methods?

Well do you...after uni im thinking of learning how to use analog recording gear. VA synths really come into their own when recorded through analog mixers and tape machines. Tried it with the KC once.....lovely warm authentic tone.

Damn straight! Im all about analogue......

We have just started to use analogue tape recorders, learning how to lace up the tape properly etc, and machine maintenence/cleaning/de-magnetising etc......Lining up the machines with test tones etc. We are using a Studer A820 (I think) 24 track machine

Very cool!!!

The desk we are using is a Euphonix CS2000, digitally controlled analogue desk, and of course, you all know I use a vintage Studer analogue mixer for tracking in my home studio.

We will be recording to 2" tape @ 30ips, 510nWb/m.....and then bouncing into Protools for mixing. I cant wait! Now we just need to find a band....

Try running your Virus through that man....it makes a big difference!

Sounds really cool......nice analog gear. God I'd love to run a JP8 with Roland chorus and space echo through your desk and record to tape. So satisfying.....
