Default virus ti distortion VS virus kc distortion

is it me or does the distortion on the KC kick sooooo much more ass than the distortion on the new TI's?

Mmm, interesting. I'd have initially thought they'd be the same?

BenC will know...

I own both side by side, and for some reason, I can get an infinite more amount of bite out of my KC than I can out of my TI keyboard. I dont know why thats the case, I know that Access did a complete overhaul of the TI's system, and I am not complaining about the thing at all (dear god I can get such awesome pads out of those wavetables now! and yah, that hypersaw rocks). But the distortion is different, its not necessarily a bad thing, it just doesnt get that almost nu-metal bite that I can get with the KC.

It isn't differences in the filter or saturation settings of the patches? However, I guess you made it so the patches are identical, so I wont insult your intelligence.

Therefore, hopefully some Access tech' geek will fill us in...

This is what I'd look at too. An easy way might be to transfer a patch from the C to the TI.

Let us know what the outcome is.

could you post some samples?

yeah, and hollowcell did a good proposal. There might be different scalings so that if you create a patch with eg. both distortion at 3 o clock, the result might be different. loading a virus c patch in your TI might solve the problem

Interesting, I have been wondering about the distortion in the TI for a while.

It been so long since I used a C that I cant remember its character well enough to compare, I just dont remember being as underwhelmed by it as I am with the TI's distortion.

Could simply be that my taste in distortion has changed a bit and Ive become alot more picky, or have since got more used to what the V-Synth, KS-Rack and guitar processors can do and so I need re-learn abit about how to make good use of the virus distortion again.

havent had the time to post a recording of the different patches on each instrument, though, I figured out a way to get more bite out of the virus TI

you need to use the distortion with the saturation at the same time. Sadly though, the digital distrotion setting still doesnt have the same bite as the KC.
