recording software etc.

hey guys, not sure if this is the right section of the forum but here it goes..

basically what i use to record now is garageband and Reason 3.
i cant find on apples site if garageband supports AU and VST plugins (im assuming not?) so im contemplating Logic express (as i dont have $1499 australian dollars to throw on the full version of logic).
but im not sure if the plugin will work in that either.

do any of you use logic express?

im just a bit confused about the plugin/Ti side of things.
