Balanced TRS to TRS or Balanced TRS to XLR
Speaker Cable Connections
Balanced TRS to TRS -or- Balanced TRS to XLR
Which do you prefer for your main monitors?

I have a pair of Mackie HR824s (which have both types of connections).
I have tried both and can honestly say I didn't hear any difference.
Ultimately I settled with the TRS to XLR connection.

Yeah... no difference. Whatever works for you. Also, I find it is best not to obsess too much on these minor details, and involve yourself more in actual music making and the process. You get alot more done

True... I was also wondering about sturdiness. I guess I wasn't thinking of pro-audio, but of those cheap "gold" pins on my stereo speakers that break off.
Thanks all

You have a point. XLR's do seem a bit more sturdy, but you shouldnt need to mess with the connectors once they are in...
