Default hellos

Hi,

Joined up a few weeks ago upon receipt of a virus b (used, in excellent condition). my purchase was motivated by rehearsal/recording sessions w/ a trio I'm in, during which I was playing a friend's moog voyager - the alphaJuno1 I usually perform/record with was totally outmatched in terms of playability and flexibility. so I had the gearlust. long story short, the virus b (desktop) was in my price range (maybe not my budget!) and had the specs and reviews I like to see.

I'm about a month or so into programming and performing and am totally happy. hopefully I can carve out some time to contribute to this forum! (and I can't abide the "shy, non-poster" tag, cute as it is)

I've been making music since 1995. the virus is my...sixth...synth.

my sig has the relevant links to find out more about my music (none of it features the virus....yet.)

A pleasure to meet your acquaintance. I play a Virus KC in a 5 piece, goth/electro/industrial band from Seattle.
The Virus has a considerable amount ov trouble competing with the astounding sound quality ov the Voyager but as a live synth, there are few synths that can match it.

Looking forward to hearing some of the FrauFraulein tracks. Being half German I can't help but love the name...

I do hear a difference in sound quality b/w the Virus and the Voyager, but not in a very disheartening way...more like the different "character" of the instruments. they are very different synths, suffice it to say i'm perfectly happy w/the Virus!

Fraufraulein recently played a very fine set (live debut after ~4 years of playing and recording in other combinations), Anne Guthrie on French Horn and myself w/the Virus and a Mesa-Boogie amp.

from January 31 @ Monkeytown in Brooklyn, live recording using an Edirol R-09, touched up a bit in Logic Pro
