Default How long til Ti Mk2?

Hi

Is it likely that Access will be releasing a replacement for the TI anytime soon. The synth is well over 2 years old and I am 95% certain I'm going to get a Polar TI, but I'm scared to death that they'll release a new version as soon as I've parted with my cash. Or are Viruses (Virii??) not prone to this problem in the same way that PCs and iphones, etc, are?

Thank you
Jules

Hey Jules,

None of us have any idea when an Mk2 will ever see the light of day unfortunately, but if you are actually ultra serious about waiting until a Mk2 (since the TI is 3/4yrs old), an option could perhaps be to grab a second-hand TI mk1 off of eBay (or somewhere more reputable) and get the use out of it until a Mk2 successor comes along, and then you can sell the Mk1 on again for pretty much the same money you originally bought it. The second-hand Viruses tend to hold their values well.

If I were to make a wild bet on a TI mk2, I would perhaps hazard a guess at an alpha demonstration at January Winter Namm 2009, with a public release in Summer 2009. That's all it is though, a wild guess. Access don't release any information like that.
