Default Virus B & Cubase Sx 3 - Presets Reverting Back To Factory Setting After Looping

Hi All,

I've just recently purchased a virus b and am running through Cubase SX 3 no worries, however whenever Ive keying in a pattern using a preset then tweaked the preset when I play the sequence through the area which I have chosen to loop the tweaked preset will revert back to the original preset sound once it has ran though the loop. ERRRR!!

Anyone know what I need to adjust in cubase or the virus to eliminate this issue? Help would be greatly appreciated as the virus is pretty useless at the moment without getting this fixed! sure its only minor!!!

Hi, I'm absolutely shocking with MIDI, but it sounds like a patch call is being sent out by cubase at the beginning of the loop, and therefore it reverts the patch preset to its original saved state each and every time it loops.

An option would be to have all of your patch calls at the very start of the song, say in the first 1 bar or so, before any other song data starts. Then you can delete any patch calls from any individual loops you have, so the preset is never reset during the song. - This way the patch will retain any CC settings and tweaks that are made throughout the song, without reverting each time.

sounds logical.....cheers for the response....I have a mess around and see how I go.....

I raised this on another forum as someone was having the same problem with a Virus A...they mentioned it was something to do with midi preferences in Cubase but I cannot figure out what I have to enable!! Ive referred to the manual but I get a bit lost with all the ambiguity! I have found things that sound similar to what I want to achieve but I still cant get it goin...! Trial and Error will prevail!
