Default Virus TI Control only partially working

Hi guys and gals,

I have an annoying problem with my Virus TI Control. Only part of the parameters seems to make my TI (polar, 3.0.1.09) respond. E.g. if I change filter cutoff or chorus level, then my TI responds without hassle but if I change LFO rate or distortion level nothing happens. It works fine if I change directly on my TI though but I prefer editing via my (Windows XP) PC. I had this problem before, not sure why it disappeared but now the problem is back. Very annoying. I've of course tried to restart my TI and Cubase (5) witout any luck. Any suggestion?

Hi, did you find any solution? I am having a problem where I load a song in Cubase 5, which was created in SX3, and all the patches sound fine. but then when i save the song, and re-open it, The patch has changed. somethings happening when VC saves.

it happens when VC is transmitting the sound. we fixed a problem introduced recently and hope to have it fixed with the next version.

Hi marc, thanks for the reply. I am using version 2.7.5 of the virus software. Is there anything i can do at the moment? is this an issue with cubase 5?

what do you mean by 'vc is transmitting the sound'

I appreaciate your help, this one has had me tearing my hair out for hours allready... I'm stuck on this problem, as far as me installing on a new OS is concerned.

hi, the problem i was talking about didn't exist in version 2.7.5, so you might have a different problem. i'd get in touch with access support.

best, marc

Saw this thread and wanted to mention I'm experiencing the same issue w/ the virus not changing the sounds sort of randomly when I change parameters in VC, and I'm using Cubase 5 as well, but w/ Virus TI OS 3.0.1.09.

Glad to hear this is a known issue.

Default Troubleshooting - Update

Hi, just an update to my first post in this thread.

I still have the same problem. I tried to solve it by buying a dedicated USB controller card and a high quality USB cable and use this exclusively for the Virus, but still the same issue.

I've also noticed that for some of the parameters that do work (like OSC1 semi tone), a small dial (like a clock symbol) is showed momentarily in the lower right corner of the display. For some other parameters that do work (like Freq Shifter mix) a symbol resembling "SE" is shown in the lower right corner of the display. For the parameters that don't work (at lest half of all parameters), no indication is shown in the display that it has received any signal from my PC.

Very weird and frustrating. Anyone else have the same issue? Do I need to repair my Virus?

Hi,
exact same issue here. Virus TI desktop, Cubase 5, XP SP3, OS 3.0.4.00. Many parameters such as oscillator freq work. When I try to change the Mod matrix settings with virus control the settings are not transmitted to the Virus Ti.
